We invite your participation in our group. Your ideas and suggestions are always welcome. We usually meet on the third Thursday of the month, at 10 AM.
Purpose: to recommend to the members of CFUW/PQ projects which further the education of girls and women in developing countries. Global Outreach accomplishes this by acting in conjunction with IFUW and CFUW and with other established agencies outside our organization provided their aims and objectives are compatible with our own.
Background: Between 2007 and 2011, CFUW P/Q has provided full secondary school scholarships to five deserving girls from Ghana, Uganda, and Kenya. Our current student is Belinda Achieng of Kenya, who will graduate in December 2012.
Activities:
- Global Outreach researches and presents appropriate projects to the Club members for their consideration and support.
- In 2012 Global Outreach will propose two options for project support to club members.
- In 2012 Global Outreach will publish the first digital edition of Global Connections, an inventory of mid-Island initiatives active in international outreach.
